Our mission is to give residents, business owners and municipal operations managers, easy ways to achieve cleaner air, a healthier environment and better way of life.

COOL Caledon is comprised of volunteers, Town of Caledon staff, and the Caledon Countryside Alliance - people and organizations committed to the environment and sustaining high quality of life for all. Many important
relationships extend into the community. Alliances with the Caledon Environmental Advisory Committee (CEAC), and Citizens for a Clean Caledon (CCC) and the Caledon Chamber of Commerce are critical to raising resident's and business owner's awareness about Caledon's natural heritage and vision for the future. In 2003, Caledon was voted the Greenest Town in Ontario by a panel of expert judges on TVOntario's Studio 2 newsmagazine.

Community projects include:

• Electricity Doctor Home Visits
• Tree Stewardship
• Transportation Alternatives
• Wind Power
• Alternative Energy Sources
• Public Awareness, including a School Program

With the Town's visionary membership in the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), we have access to collective research on sustainable development from 400 member cities and regions from around the world. The Town of Caledon and COOL Caledon are active with local governments and agencies to protect watersheds, air quality and other natural resources.

We are working to:

• raise public awareness of the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions
• address smog and air quality;
• retrofit municipal buildings to make them more energy efficient;
• develop sustainable environmental planning practices; and
• assess lighting requirements and vehicle emissions

With gratitude, we would like to acknowledge
